This report analyzes the Facebook data scandal in terms of business ethics. It relates two ethics theory which are utilitarianism and ethics of care. in this case Facebook did not confirm to the ethics care. the privacy leaked is the lack of corporate social responsibility. In addition, in this case, the Cambridge Analytica company (CA) should take more responsibility. CA as the utilitarian, shows the typical utilitarianism character. It measures the maximum utility as the consideration which contribute benefits to stakeholders. Otherwise, it also represents the weakness of utilitarianism. It is recommended that the firm should consider CSR priority, even though, the needs of stakeholder should be satisfied. Whilst the weakness of utilitarianism should be avoided, which means making decisions should consider the consistency influence. The interaction among the CSR, ethics care and stakeholder theory need to be considered as well.
